Please note - while the rules are set in stone, the punishments are not. The period of bans, receiving of warnings, duration of mutes, or any other punishment is at the discretion of the staff member handling the issue. These rules also change. While the rules are numbered, the importance of these rules is in no order - Breaking any rule, regardless of it's number, will result in punishment.
1a. No griefing, stealing, cheating, exploiting or hacking of any kind
Hacking and cheating includes, but is not limited to, mods such as Xray, Cave Maps, Mob/Player Radar, Auto Fish, hacked clients, and anything else that is widely considered to be cheating or hacking, or otherwise circumventing our rules.
Griefing and Raiding is not allowed on Stuzzcraft at any given point in time, regardless of if the area is protected or not.
Destroying another player's blocks
Killing another player's animals/villagers/golems/mobs
Borrowing another player's stuff without permission
Harvesting crops belonging to another player
Not replanting a public farm
Constructing sexually explicit, racist, or otherwise inappropriate structures
Constructing structures with intention to troll another player
Claiming another player's property
Constructing redstone mechanisms to intentionally cause lag
1b. There will be NO PvP on Stuzzcraft except in designated areas.
The Games World - Arenas
PVP MiniGames (HoH)
The PvP World
Period. No Exceptions. Sometimes new worlds have PvP enabled. This is NOT an invitation to use it. If you kill someone, and are not in the PvP world, or a Mini game, you will be punished.
Examples of PvP:
Building player traps to capture, harm or kill another player
"Accidentally" dropping lava
"Accidentally" breaking blocks below another player
Using water to push a player
Creating redstone machines to crush, or fire projectiles at another player
2a. Be respectful to all players
Respect all players, even if they aren't being nice back. This includes, but is not limited to, calling them rude names, "Trolling” and "Troll-baiting” in chat or in /msg, even if you know them outside of Stuzzcraft. Report them to a staff member, or on the forums, and the staff will look into the matter.
We have /ignore for a reason. Use it. Please do not take matters into your own hands as this could result in you being punished as well, should you break the rules.
2b. Do not begin, engage or participate in discussions of inappropriate topics
Excessively negative comments or disruptive arguments/discussions in global chat will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, discussions concerning politics, religion, sexual/illegal contents, issues with staff/policy, issues with specific other players, or validity of bans. Any and all such conversations should be conducted in/moved to private channels, such as /msg or /mail. We would like to keep Stuzzcraft appropriate for everyone, regardless of age, gender, race or religion.
2c. Do not harass other players
Harassing other players is strictly against the rules. Coincientally, false claims of harassment will be punished accordingly.
Forms of harassment include, but are not limited to:
Begging for items/teleports/permissions
Repeatedly sending teleports to players or a group of players after being denied a teleport
Asking for personal information of other players, including but not limited to: names, photographs, addresses, and social networking profiles
Repeatedly asking for someone to be unbanned, unmuted, or unjailed
3. Swearing & Stuzzcraft
Swearing is acceptable in conversation on public channels in moderation. Swearing at players will not be tolerated, publicly or privately. If you do not wish to see swearing, use the command /chatfilter.
Intentionally using variations or alternate spelling of words to circumvent the chat filter is punishable: eg: b1tch, b i t c h.
Racist and/or specifically derogatory words, private or public, will be met with swift punishment. See the above rules regarding Respect and Harassment.
4. Do not advertise
Advertising other servers, services and webpages unrelated to Stuzzcraft is stictly against the rules.
Forms of advertising include, but are not limited to:
Posting links related to servers/services that are unrelated to Stuzzcraft
Talking about other servers/services that are unrelated to Stuzzcraft
Giving out IP addresses or domains of other servers
Intentionally directing another player away from Stuzzcraft
5a. Do not overuse capital letters
Using all capital letters as a method of communication is seen as shouting and can be very rude. It's also quite irritating. Please be considerate of all players and do not shout at them. Caps lock is permitted to be used for emphasizing certain words in a sentence, but it should not take up more than a word or two in each sentence.
Eg: "I REALLY hate ghasts!" is considered acceptable. "NOOOOO. I dropped my pick in lava!" is also considered acceptable.
"IS ANYONE NEAR A JUNGLE?!??!?!1/1!?!11oneone"
"CAN I HAVE GLOWSTONE???????? sorry caps"
5b. Do not spam or flood the chat
Flooding is where you post a lot in a short amount of time. Spam can be categorized as a repetitive characters in one sentence, or as repeated messages in the chat.
Actions that are considered flood/spam:
Repeating the same sentence or question more than a few times
Repeating the same sentence again over a short period of time
Excessive use of certain characters in one sentence. Eg: "!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha"
Splitting up a single sentence over multiple messages: eg: why <enter> wont <enter> anyone <enter> talk <enter> to <enter> me?!?!?!?!?! (Hint: It's because that's annoying.)
6. Do not trick or scam players
This means that players cannot try to get other players in trouble by tricking/forcing them into doing something they did not intend to do.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Tricking someone into giving money or items when they did not intend to do so
Tricking players into accepting a teleport request when they did not intend to do so
Taking advantage of players in any way
Tricking players into paying more than what they had intended to
7. Punishment Evasion
Using another account to evade any form of punishments is strictly against the rules. This will result in a ban on your alternate account and an increased duration of your punishment on your main account. Should you feel that you have been wrongfully punished, please use the correct channels to contact the staff. Appeals made on behalf of another player will not be entertained.
How to get in touch with the staff:
If you are banned: Fill out a ban appeal: http://stuzzcraft.org/appeal
If you have been muted, you may choose to send the staff a message with /mail
Examples of punishment evasion include, but are not limited to:
Using another account to evade your mute/ban on Stuzzcraft
Having another player ask for you to be unbanned/unmuted
Having another player explain to the staff why you should be unbanned/unmuted
8. Respect all staff members
The Staff exists to maintain the server, and to keep it a fun, respectable community for everybody. The Staff reserves the right to enforce rules, assign punishments, and make their own judgements at any given point in time. If you feel like a member of the Staff is abusing his/her powers or authority, you can file a report with someone of a higher authority, such as the owner, by sending a private messsage on the webpage, or by filling out a message in the "Player/Staff issues" section of the forum.
Some forms of disrespecting staff members or the staff as a whole include, but is not limited to:
Challenging the Staff’s judgement on enforcing rules/punishments by arguing about them in public chat
Name calling or making derogatory remarks against the Staff
Ignoring a warning from a staff member
Impersonating staff members or tags with /nick, false claims of being staff, threatening bans/mutes on players
9. Do not interfere with staff doing their jobs
While this has been covered in other rules stated above, people seem to forget this. Do not argue with the staff. Do not get involved when the staff is dealing with a problem, or player. Do not complain that (insert staff member) is unfair for (insert punishment)ing (insert player). It is not up to you. Punishments are at the sole discretion of the staff member giving it out. If you disagree with a moderator's actions, post about it on the forums and let us know. This is the only route available to you. Arguing with them in game will not go anywhere but down.
10. Do NOT /unlock your chests!
Never, ever, EVER unlock your chests, and do not give permission for untrusted people to access your chests. The staff will not restore items stolen from chests, nor unlock a chest claimed by someone else. If you would like to allow other people to access your chests, use /cmodify (player). If you would like to let EVERYONE use your chests, use /cpublic. There is never, ever, ever, ever any reason to /unlock a chest.
